Continuum and atomistic scale computational mechanics for structures with small length scales. With on-demand call to molecular dynamics simulations and scale up to continuum level constitute models, where predictions can be made for laboratory accessible time and length scales.

Material systems including: crystal plasticity in singly/poly crystalline metals, interfacial/grain-boundary mechanics in nanostructured materials, amorphous solids, nanowires, soft materials.

魏宇杰研究员获得“百人计划”终期评估优秀

近日,中国科学院人事局公布了2011年度“百人计划”入选者终期评估结果,经用人单位初评估、院综合评估,并经院人才工作领导小组审定,力学研究所魏宇杰研究员“百人计划”终期评估结果为“优秀”。

2011年度“百人计划”入选者终期评估共有222名入选者参与,其中47人评估结果为优秀,174人评估结果为良好,1人评估结果为合格,优秀率21%。

魏宇杰研究员,现任非线性力学国家重点实验室副主任。2014年获国家杰出青年基金支持。近年来一直就不同尺度工程材料在界面影响下的断裂、纳米材料的塑性变形机理、低维材料典型缺陷的力学特征等方面进行深入的研究、取得了创新性成果。所建立的关于界面断裂的本构模型,发展的界面扩散和滑移的计算方法,揭示的在纳米晶体中随晶粒减小而更显著的应变率效应起源于晶界滑移和扩散引起的蠕变规律、二维材料中的5-7环缺陷产生的应力场及其对强度的影响等科研成果受到国际学术同行的高度关注。

 

简介:魏宇杰研究员主要从事固体力学中材料强度与塑性变形机理的研究,重点在于理解材料中典型微结构与宏观力学性能这两个跨越多个空间与时间尺度的物理对象之间的关联。近5年,以通讯作者(含合作通讯作者)在Nature、Nature Materials、Nature Communications、PNAS、Nano Letters等学术刊物上发表学术论文30多篇,这些文章累计被他引近千次。获2013年中国力学学会“青年科技奖”,2013年中国科学院“优秀导师奖”,2014年获得国家杰出青年科学基金的资助。
